ThermaCell Enters New Market With Revolutionary
Fragrance Delivery Product

SARASOTA, Fla., March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- ThermaCell Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: VCLL - news, VCLLW - news) announced that it is introducing Aroma Rocks (patent pending), a byproduct of the Company's innovative VaxCell microsphere technology.

Aroma Rocks will resemble gravel or stone in sizes ranging from one-half to an inch in diameter and will be a completely new way to deliver long-lasting scent for uses similar to air fresheners and aromatherapy. Because of the structure of Aroma Rocks, the imbedded oil is held firmly in place so that there is no threat of leaking, unlike current fragrance and aromatherapy delivery systems. As a result, the rocks will not discolor fabrics or textiles.

The technology driving Aroma Rocks involves a current manufacturing byproduct of ThermaCell's VaxCell microspheres, which are microscopically small, evacuated spheres of glass. When fused together, the microspheres develop capillary-like vents, which can then absorb essential oils and fragrance oils. The oils are then locked in place and released over time. Current samples manufactured in the spring of 1998 are still releasing fragrance today. The rocks are also well suited to a variety of applications above and beyond fragrance delivery.

ThermaCell is currently researching the size of the aromatherapy and fragrance markets and estimates that the two combined exceed $300 million. ThermaCell anticipates that it will capture a minimum of 10% of the market.

Essential oils are commonly used to modify emotional and physical moods. According to the Journal of Alternative & Complementary Medicine, brain wave patterns caused by odors are different than those initiated by sight and sound, leading to an alteration in awareness, mood or physiological response. The Aroma Rocks will facilitate fragrance therapy any time, anywhere.

John Pidorenko, Chairman, President and CEO of ThermaCell, said that the new technology could have far reaching impact on everything from perfume to home fragrance delivery. ''Aroma Rocks will enable us to participate in an exciting new market, utilizing a current byproduct which will have a direct impact on the bottom line with minimal cost to us.''

Aroma Rocks will be available in various colors, sizes, fragrances and packaging types within the next ten days through ThermaCell's online store, www.Paint-n-Stuff.com. The Company also plans to market Aroma Rocks through bed and bath retail outlets.

ThermaCell Technologies, Inc. (http://www.thermacell.com) is a vertically integrated manufacturer and marketer of technologically enhanced coatings and building materials that provide improved insulation, protection, strength, longevity and value at a lower cost than conventional materials. The Company's www.Paint-n-Stuff.com web site is one of the first e-commerce paint stores on the Internet.
