Interesting post. Your choice of software and Montessori schooling is almost identical to mine. Our youngest became proficient with the mouse at 18 months, and he frequently entertains himself by sitting at the computer and popping up windows. (BTW: His nickname is "Scumbria" the Russian word for mackerel, which is how I chose my SI alias.)

We turned off our television for good almost 5 years ago, and it has had a remarkable impact on the quality of our children's thought processes.
