Good point with the movie. A TR movie will really boost the Lara Croft franchise to new highs. So far, EIDSY HASN't given much details abiut the movie deal with Paramount. I understood that EIDSYs chairman Mr. Cornwall has a Exec. Producer function and that EIDSY has special veto rights about the movie script and the upcoming merchandise. Unfortunately no details were given about the revenue stream (is EIDSY getting a fixed payment from Paramount, or are royalties based on box office sales and if how many % does EIDSY get?).
Another aspect is the fact that movies based on PC games were so far
flops (Street Fighter, Super Mario), I don't know, whether the TR story is enough to attract masses of people. I'm a big Lara fan (I can proof that: I played TR 1 exactly 5 times from the beginning to the end, I bought TR 2 and TR 3 at the first day the were available in stores and I've the "original Lara Croft merchandising statue" standing at my office desk ;-)...so you could really call me a TR fan), but I've my doubts that this movie can indeed compete with movies like Indiana Jones. Where's the story line behind Lara Croft (I mean we need more characters than just Lara and her old butler)? Who should play Lara's role? So, given all these facts, it's still unclear whether the movie deal really means big bucks for EIDSY.

Kai

P.S.: Please AJ: Don't call her Laura like in your recent post. It can be really nasty, if you can't remember the exact name of a lady ;-)
