Compaq thread posted that Compaq is saying March sales were up (above expectations), and that February sales were only 1% below previous year...

Dell may be sitting pretty here...having gotten their "bad month" out in last quarter (January)...and having 2 months of PIII sales in this quarter (March/April)...also, CPQ, and others, working down inventory in part of the quarter....big boost in market share will show up at the end of April IDC/Dataquest stats..

I still see Dell bouncing up some from these levels (after Intel "clears things up")..up to 46-48 (maybe)..a bit of a stall, and then another earnings run starting sometime around the analyst meeting in April (1st/2nd week) and lasting thru (most of) the month....

Earlier this quarter, I thought that 55 (110, the old high) was not a possibility this quarter....I am not so sure anymore...Historically, Dell takes out the old high each quarter...Guess a lot depends on March (PC sales overall)...and the reports that leak out..

BTW- In April, Cpq has two big meetings (shareholders) and another bi-annual meeting where over 6,000 CIO,CEO of Compaq customers are invited (according to Rudedog)....this should help boost the sector too...(bullish news flowing...)>..All IMO...
