Ans as a matter of fact have entertained many strangers, and will probably continue to do so for the glory of God. But those strange hitch-hikers I will leave to others, my good friend.
Wisdom does not dictate otherwise.!

Dan, would you encourage or even suggest that a member of your family pick up hitch hikers?
I've got lots of stories of hitch hikers and those who are terribly sorry they picked them up.!

There are hundreds of strangers we meet along the way in our everyday life, even the local restaurants,(we're entertaining hundreds right here on SI aren't we) that we need never think that God would test us in this ever so changing, and dangerous world to ever pick up a hitch hiker while driving at 65 mph.

In almost all cases of strangers Dan we get some clue as to what kind of person we are dealing with even before we entertain them, however in the case of the hitch hiker, we are without a clue and defenseless. It is only after he/she gets in our car( and in many cases that is too late) that we can truly sense anything about this stranger!

In the days when this was spoken most people walked from town to town and so to meet someone on the trail and begin talking was quite common, and they probably in most cases were glad to have company for their long journey. Quite a different scenario than what we have today.

Ah yes Dan, strangers are plentiful today and we should be kind to strangers.....when it is not putting ourselves at great risk.
Common sense and wisdom are free.!

As I said, I never did, and never will pick up a hitch hiker.
As a matter of fact when I have passed them by I have prayed that they be safe from harm, and that anyone who might pick them up also be safe from harm....Since they have no wisdom I pray that God might protect them from in their ignorance.

Gotta go my friend talk to you later
Shalom...><>
