Have you heard what capacity Quantum expects these AVHDDs to ship in? It seems like the first systems will be very expensive anyway, (the first flat panel TV's selling over $100,000), so they might as well use high end, highest capacity drives.

Anyway, how can it impact sales over the next one to two years? Maybe gadget crazy Japanese will buy quicker than we think?

So, MKE will eventually be a sales channel, not just a manufacturing channel. Is there hope that MKE buys a bigger stake in HDD with the new stock split and then Quantum sells HDD IP leaving the bulk of worries to MKE and the remaining company focuses on Tape?

In fact, would it take much for Quantum to build into a competitive SAN supplier as they build on their direct sales of tape libraries? We shouldn't these companies begin to compete with EMC?

Does Quantum exit HDD? Is the stock split a parlour trick to magnify something everybody already knew anyway, or is it a bold move to exit a low profit business? Who's loading up on QNTM?

Regards,

Mark
