Thanks for the response Geof. And of course that leads to other questions....

How much time will it take for Terayon to implement the DOCSIS 1.0 and 1.1 features into their chipset. Is a 3 month or 12 month project. I assume that since they are incorporating these features into their own silicon, they have to start somewhat from scratch. My understanding is that the TDMA features of 1.0 and 1.1 are easier to implement than S-CDMA.

Another poster mentioned that supporting S-CDMA and the current modulation scheme would make the Terayon box even more costly. How is this if it is all in a single ASIC?

Finally, does having their own ASIC provide a cost advantage over buying standard chips from Broadcom? Maybe this is completely volume dependent.
