AzCPA, All views respected here! I've built a big position here and will just sit and watch. The risk is that financial problems could half the value of the stock to $1 1/2/share. The upside is that the Thai Facility streams early in significant quantities and AFLX "rights its ship". Upside could be back to retest the $9/share level. 1 1/2 down to 6 up or 4 to 1 is a fair risk/return incentive for me here....

The profit margin issue is across most tech manufacturers- volume production is there but cheaper Asian currencies as well as excess manufacturing capacity hurting profit margins. As Asia recovers, then so will Asian currencies some of which are down 50% agains the US Dollar since late 1997. That makes-(1) Holding a few dollars in your portfolio in an Asian or Japanese Mutual Fund not a bad idea: and (2) Lessening pressure on profit margins of manufacturers as Asian currencies recover and excess manufacturing capacity worldwide is absorbed...
