Thu 11 Mar 99 News Release
Mr. Glenn Shevchenko reports
Diamond drilling has recently commenced on the company's 100-per-cent-owned
Despinassy property 70 kilometres north of Val d'Or, Que. The property is
optioned to Cameco Gold Inc. which is conducting a 2,000-metre drill
program consisting of 10 to 12 holes that are designed to test for
Abitibi-type gold mineralization.
In 1998, Cameco completed geophysical surveys and eight drill holes which
resulted in the discovery of a second parallel gold zone. The gold
mineralization extends along strike for at least 1,500 metres and is hoted
in multiple sets of sulphide-bearing quartz veins that are associated with
wide silicified shear zones. The strike length and extensive silicification
supports the potential for a large mineralized system. The encouraging
results prompted Cameco to renew the option and conduct a 38-kilometre
induced polarization survey over previously untested portions of this
60-claim property.
Cameco is in the second year of its option whereby it may earn a 60 per
cent interest in the property over a three-year period.
