dennis....long dell common or leaps...leaps not an "investment"

depends on your situation, if you are an investor and able to go long the common than that would be my preference....leaps give you great leverage, but there is an erosion of premium as time marches on toward expiration...o1 42.5 with a 15.25 premium means you are not in the money at expiration until the common is at 57.75...not to say that in the interim the premium will swell as the underlying moves up...good leverage, and potential great percentage return...does everything the common can do...but has a short life...can't argue with buying leap calls at this point...but i would still be selling leap puts now...as it better fits my investment strategy...
