SOmetimes Feelings is pretty overwhelming because it deals head on with life's icks. While over here we sort of slide around things, like my pet slugs, whom I didn't even own long enough to name.

(Moment of silence)

Anorexia-I have no scientific basis for agreeing with this, though I think I may have read it, but I bet Coby is right about control. So many of the "problems" we encounter with our children spring from exactly that. The problem is recognizing when it matters and when it doesn't. And then to whom it matters.
I've had friends whose children had both kinds of eating problems- too much and not enough, and toileting problems, (really awful--severe constipation-days on end, child in pain and refusing to go- enemas- finally a psychologist just told the parents to let go and damned if it didn't work--when they did- he did!)AS they get older, it's clothes, and earrings and hair...sex...grades--drugs-
My god- where do we get the courage to have babies????
I just depressed myself thoroughly- how the hell did I raise two kids?
I think the most important part of parenting is the "attagirls!" I'd do even more of that if I could do it again. THe negative stuff they get from many other directions.
