From the tone of your post, I get the impression, that you can not
understand why all people are not interested or inclined to acquire
excessive material wealth in our society at the expense of the environment. So from that vein, I conclude that you think that those that want something else and can find fulfillment, and self esteem, in this case from the environment, and want to strongly protect it , are malcontents..

I don't think you understand... I can make the same statement about the exploiter..

An extreme capitalist with no other goals but to acquire wealth has gone to extremes throughout our US history
magnitudes more times than any extreme environmentalist ever has.

Witness the massacres at the labor strikes in the early 1900's

Tobacco companies and their denials and lies..

The dumping of toxics from smelters and other plants into our
rivers when they knew it was dangerous is extreme behavior..

And On and on...

The myriad of coverups of actions that they know are immoral
and illegal are EXTREME im opinion and are examples of malcontent capitalists out of control..

To set aside a few parks and places that we as people perceive
as beauty for our enjoyment only, is not conservation or environmentalism, It is a selfish and short term approach to a problem that threatens ALL LIFE, the destruction of our LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEM.
