To all: I don't own any shares of TCA but have become interested in the field because I bought some shares of a competitor of theirs who is "in vivo" testing a fully implantable ventricular assist device that goes in the chest cavity and has no wires perforating the skin. Their market cap is 1/20 that of TCA, with what appears to be a technically superior product. TCA of course does have some already functioning "bridge to transplant" devices that account for their revenue stream right now. Check out the thread I started "World Heart - $3.5 Billion Mkt", and I'd welcome any posts there.

With respect to the insurance coverage, I think an important point to rememember that billions are being spent on drugs already to keep people alive and then they eventually die. So it's possible these devices could actually save money in the long run.
