No Life Department. Here is something that will help make computer maintenance easier for PC users:

Create a folder with all your cleanup utilities on the desktop.

1. Right Click on a blank space on the desktop. Select New, Folders, and Click.
2. Name the folder: “Clean Up”
3. Place it on the opposite side of your desktop from your other desktop icons (or wherever you want).
4. Go to Start, Programs, Accessories, System tools;
1. Right drag off the drop down list, and onto the desktop, and select “Create Shortcut Here”:
A. Disk Cleanup
B. Scan Disk
C. Disk Defragment
2. Drag them into the Cleanup Folder
5. Go to Start, and Right Click, Explore. Scroll to “Temp” (Not Temporary Internet files). Right Drag it to the desktop and select “Create Shortcut Here”, then drag it to the Cleanup folder
6. Every night, or every morning (at the beginning or at the end of a session, but not in the middle) Delete all the files from the Temp File; Run the Disk Cleanup utility; Run Scan Disk; and run the Disk Defragment Utility.

Your computer will thank you.

If you like unique icons for your desktop folders, Create the “Clean Up” folder in Control Panel, then right drag it to the desktop, and select “Create Shortcut Here”. Then right click the folder, go to properties, and go to change icon and select the Icon you want.

Ideas modified from Windows 98 Secrets.
