<sleep deprivation for day traders> Hardly. Apart from those manic traders who feel obliged to watch every tick from open to close, the beauty of day trading is that you can pick your own hours. Day traders will always gravitate to volatility and liquidity such as during the first and last hour of trading. It will likely be a long time (if ever) before these 24hr boards can generate the liquidity necessary to attract day traders in any big way. Maybe the Asians will keep things humming while the Americans are asleep but they would probably be busy enough with their own markets. However, anything that levels the playing field for the individual investor is good and 24 hr trading could open up some interesting opportunities.
