Bob - While I understand that under certain circumstances it is necessary to intervene in the dynamics of a thread, you must use a great deal of caution since a thread is also a community, and has its own dynamics. I would like to believe that people value the information and opinion that I post on this forum, but from a personal perspective, most of the reason that I take the time to do so is to engage in conversation with the "regulars". Frankly, if all that went on here was straight discussion about CPQ's prospects, products and other "pure" information, I wouldn't bother.
For the most part, SI has granted broad latitude for most threads to self-police. Take away the off-topic, innuendo and outright provocative posts and you may also take away the factors that interest some of your more informed posters.
Those who find it irritating to work through hundreds of posts to get to the few "gems" should take a look at browsemaster, which will allow them to filter out the people they don't care to read. |
