Good question. The volume has indeed been lower, and yes that has been bothering me, however, your question caused me to look closer at what the volume has been. Although the average is up around 24M, if you look at it closer you notice that the last several months have had volume well above the longer term average. Furthermore, although the average is that high, that average has been driven up by a few days in which the volume was 25M and higher. If you eyeball the median volume, it is more like 12M daily since November. So maybe we need to rethink what the average volume is for AOL, and consider anything above, say 15M, to be a good day.
