Soup--Greetings! In my ramblings on the 'Net Thursday, ran across the following on PointCast coverage of Motorola:

NEWSBYTES 12 Feb 97: "Australian Apple Dealers Warned On Clones"

Seen it? I haven't bothered to learn how to put an active URL into text like this, so here's the gist: Seems that AAPL HQ in Australia is upset over clones being offered alongside Macs in many Apple franchises in their region. This week they circulated a "very confidential" letter to all dealers warning of dire consequences if this practice continues, specifically: withdrawal of funds for local advertising! There were also dire warnings about releasing contents of the letter itself, but that seems to have gotten the thing leaked almost immediately by quite a few recipients. Interesting, no?

Warmest Regards,

Bob Nichol
