Overview
Transact provides all the built-in functionality you need to
run a Web business, with a complete set of end-to-end
commerce services, including online customer
authentication and authorization, online order and
payment processing, automated tax and shipping
calculations, online order and tracking status, and online
customer service.

You can own and operate this solution yourself, or turn to a
Commerce Service Provider (CSP) who will provide
these commerce services to you for a monthly fee. This
unique solution allows businesses of all sizes and types to
take advantage of the comprehensive, robust, flexible,
secure functionality offered by Transact. And, because
Transact is a packaged software application (versus a
toolkit or completely custom solution), your Web business
can be up and running quickly and cost effectively.

Features
Whether you own and operate Transact yourself, or pay a
monthly fee to a Commerce Service Provider for
commerce services, the full range of Transact's
functionality is available to you:

Customer authentication and authorization
Online order and payment processing
Automated tax and shipping calculations
Online order and tracking status
Online customer service
Allows businesses to offer physical goods, digital
goods, and subscriptions
Free upgrades

Primary Target Market
Varied. The structure of the system allows it to grow with
the evolving needs of an Internet business.

Availability
Worldwide. Supports multiple languages, currencies,
payment methods, and business models.

Pricing
Transact for the enterprise begins at U.S. $65,000.

Commerce Service Providers (CSP's) provide commerce
services to businesses for approximately
$300-$500/month (pricing varies by CSP).

Size Limitations
Transact's modular structure allows it to grow with the
evolving needs of your business.

Payment Methods Used for Transactions
Transact supports all types of payment mechanisms. In
addition to purchase orders, credit cards, procurement
cards, microtransactions, and SET, the system can also
support debit cards, smart cards, frequent buyer points,
and other payment types.

Security Features Offered
Transact's unique SecureLink commerce objects allow for
distributed commerce while providing tamperproof
messages and authentication. The system is protected
behind two firewalls. All customer payment credentials are
independently encrypted. Provides support for the world's
most secure payment protocols, including SET.

Implementation Time
For Transact: approximately one to six months. For
Commerce Service Providers: CSP's can get Web
businesses up and running in as little as days or weeks
time.

Integration With Legacy Systems
Transact's application programming interfaces (APIs)
allow flexibility for integration with virtually any legacy
system.

UPS Functionality
Open Market and UPS have forged an alliance to provide
integrated logistics and fulfillment called the UPS
Logistics Gateway. Users will be able to prepare
packages for shipment through an interface with UPS
OnLine® Professional shipping software, and will be able
to track the packages with a standard UPS shipping
number or a reference number assigned when an order is
placed.

How UPS Adds Value to the System
Businesses will not have to re-key shipping information,
as it will be automatically captured from the Transact
system to flow into the UPS system, generating a printed
shipping label and updating Transact with the UPS
tracking number.

Yes, I'm interested. I want to learn more.
