Is WIN NT the bunny that goes on and on and on .... or will there come a day

when Windows NT sales slow?

The shortfall reported today amounts to more software bugs in Office 2000 and a delay in its introduction by 4 months. Revenue that they would have pumped into this quarter from sales made previously but only realized with the product release will be deferred until the next quarter.

With the lack of new product WinNT sales have to slow down this year.

If this is the quarter that happens, it should boost NOVL. My reasoning is as follows --- any slowdown in Win NT sales means they have saturated the application server market at the departmental level and have no follow-on product to go after the virgin enterprise server market. Novell's stock will get another boost if these bad Win NT server numbers materialize.
