Rande: 'The Basics" post is a fine piece; albeit a bit cynical. But I think that it merits at least one qualification; namely that it is for 'investing' in OTC penny stocks. For those who are position/swing traders or day traders, all that really matters is the following:

1) Stock has a buzz around it on the message boards
2) Volume and share price escalating
3) Upcoming news or rumor of major news coming
4)Substantial availability of IR or company rep confirming upcoming news & general health of company.

As painful as it is to admit, there are many questionable companies out there that have had major run ups based on the above and traders stand to make or break fortunes based on those criteria alone. To a certain extent, even investors, depending on their investment objectives may find some truth in this contrarian outlook on stocks.

The honest to goodness truth is as I've said before: Valuation is subjective. On any given day a company is worth no more nor less than what investor SENTIMENT sets it at.

It's great to do DD if it makes you feel better, but time waits for nobody when your trading.

Best wishes to all.
