I doubt very much this has anything to do with Ballmer becoming president. He's been there forever and always been #2 even if not officially. Silverberg level execs at MSFT have hundreds of millions of dollars (not an exaggeration). Most of these guys are at the age where their kids are in little league or just a bit older. Wouldn't you take a few years off in that situation?
