Franz, I'd let the market decide which way it wanted to take the stock.

If it looked like there was an order imbalance on the opening that was inclined to tip the scale downward, my bids and offers may look like 1 x 10 and everytime my bid got hit, I'd drop it a point or two or three as I moved out of the way of this freight train while it was trying to find the bottom.

And as soon as the market decided it was through with its initial direction, once I was convinced it had turned, my bids and offers would be 10 x 1.

But by your profile, it sounds like you already know all about this. By the way, what do you use for trading and where do you clear?
