In this case I think bandwidth management will become an issue with growth. As audio and / or video teleconferencing increase, the BW will increase dramatically over standard e-mail type communications (>100x). In the growth phases different additional servers could be used for e-mail, virtual private networking, audio, advertising, banking, etc., to maintain performance with large volume. However such optimization might be implemented, it would be necessary to know the utilization per category to have some kind of guideline for resource allocation. This is where I think that information would be useful. The company does not have to have the first bit of information that is passed between parties, just the TYPE of exchange, and a talley of total useage for the types they're interested in working specifically with. IF this technique was chosen to be employed, the tabulation and totals reporting would be automatic, and over time they could see what areas of their service gain the greatest interest to the customer base. This is where equipment/capital expansion investment decisions could be at least partially determined from. All IMO.
