Microvision Taps Talent in Helmet and
Head-Worn Displays

Company Adds Three to Product Team for Advanced Display Systems

SEATTLE, March 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Microvision, Inc. (Nasdaq: MVIS - news, MVISW -
news) today announced that it has added three senior product engineers to its engineering
team for development of advanced helmet-mounted and head-worn display systems
(HMDs). Joining the company are Mircea Bayer, formerly section manager for military
displays with Elbit Systems, Ltd.; Gordon Hall, formerly HMD technical group leader for
Kaiser Electronics & Aerospace; and Andrew Stevens, PhD, formerly technical manager for
display engineering with Pilkington Optronics. The new team members will be responsible
for leading product development and related activities for Microvision's high performance
helmet-mounted and head-worn displays, targeted for market roll-out to various medical,
aerospace and military customers.

''The addition of these three individuals really rounds out Microvision's product team,'' said
Steve Willey, executive vice president of Microvision. ''All three gentlemen have held
senior positions in the management of highly visible programs for the design and production
of head-worn and helmet-mounted displays in the U.S., Israel and Europe. Together they
bring to Microvision more than 50 years of display systems experience and expertise with
leading companies in the category. All three have substantial experience in developing and
producing display systems for use in military fixed-wing and rotorcraft environments, as
well as for various industrial and medical applications. Our efforts to attract this type of
talent will continue as we prepare for shipping a variety of products in the next year. I'm not
aware of any other company that has built an organization with greater talent and experience
in the field of personal displays.''

Bayer brings to Microvision more than 20 years of display product development experience
for some of the world's most advanced display programs. As a lead engineering manager
with Elbit Systems, Ltd., an Israel-based multi-million dollar company engaged in a wide
range of defense-related airborne, ground and command, control and communications
(''C3'') programs throughout the world, Bayer was responsible for all helmet and
head-down display activities, including the MIG-21, T-45, F-5, F-16 and V-22 fixed wing
aircraft. Prior to Elbit, he was the engineering manager at MTL Systems and Systems
Research Laboratories, Inc. He received his masters in electrical engineering from the
Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest.

Hall is a 25-year seasoned veteran in electro-optical design and product development.
Formerly the technical group lead for HMD systems at Kaiser Electronics & Aerospace, the
world's leading producer of head-up, head-down and helmet-mounted displays for defense
and aerospace applications, Hall was responsible for the conceptual product design and
development of the latest technology HMD systems for United States Airforce and Navy. He
was also responsible for the design of night vision systems, virtual reality systems and
head-up, head-down displays. Prior to Kaiser, Hall was with Pilkington Optronics and
Ferranti PLC. He received his BSME from the University of Dundee. Hall is responsible for
Microvision's development of advanced helmet and head worn display systems.

Stevens has achieved considerable recognition in the United Kingdom display community as
an expert in miniature flat panel display technologies and their application to HMD and
head-up display (HUD) systems. He is a frequent speaker and author on the advancements in
optical systems. As a lead member of the display team for Pilkington Optronics, one of the
world's leading producers of defense electro-optical equipment for land, sea and air
applications, Stevens supported key programs in the aerospace, automotive and medical
markets. Prior to Pilkington, Stevens received his PhD at the University of Edinburgh. He
will lead Microvision's product management initiatives within the aerospace and military
markets.
