AIT Advanced Information awarded $900,000 contract Shares issued 10,901,886 1999-03-09 close $1.01 Wednesday Mar 10 1999 Mr. Bernie Ashe reports The Canadian Passport Office has awarded the company a $900,000 contract to assist the Passport Office with preparations for the 28-site rollout of IRIS, its customized system for issuing Canadian passports. AIT will work with the Passport Office to make enhancements to the IRIS software application based on end-user feedback from a five-city pilot project. The company will also provide technical services around the system architecture, including assisting with the final specification and testing of the hardware configuration. IRIS is a decentralized passport issuance system developed specifically for the needs of the Canadian Passport Office. The IRIS software application applies custom business rules and workflow functionality to issue a Canadian passport. AIT's GenIE product, which has its roots in IRIS, uses a similar integration of digital imaging, workflow and document management for the production of virtually any secure document.
