It's not, I think, that the internationals will not do well as much as the domestics should do much, much better. Historically the Nikkei has seemed to act as a virtual reciprocal to the DJIA and the Japanese internationals have probably masked the full extent of this since they depend for much of their earnings growth on the US consumer.
However, your point is well taken and, for the early stages of any new bull market in Tokyo, it will have to be led, as you say, by the international blue chips.
