Press release:
Thursday March 11, 9:03 am Eastern Time Company Press Release ACCPAC, A Division of Computer Associates, Signs Letter of Intent to Integrate Their Software With Planet City's E-COMMKIT MONTREAL, Quebec, Canada--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 11, 1999-- In its efforts to make E-COMMKIT the best possible e-commerce tool in the marketplace, Planet City (OTC BB:PINC - news) announced today that it has signed a tentative agreement with ACCPAC, a division of Computer Associates (NYSE:CA - news) to integrate ACCPAC's SIMPLY ACCOUNTING software as part of E-COMMKIT's accounting feature. The agreement is subject to review of the E-COMMKIT demo by ACCPAC.
Under the terms of the agreement, the E-COMMKIT will use a restricted version of Simply Accounting, one of the best accounting packages in the marketplace. This allows the end user to manage the accounting end of their e-commerce business. Solid accounting features have been lacking with existing e-commerce packages because end users had to re-enter e-commerce data into their own accounting file. By integrating third party technology, Planet City's development and re-versioning costs are significantly reduced.
On Feb. 17, 1999 -- Planet City announced that it signed an exclusive agreement with Cardservice International to incorporate their credit card processing technology and services into the E-COMMKIT. Cardservice is the premier transaction service provider in the industry. Their Internet product VIRTUAL LINKPOINT is the gateway to e-commerce. Cardservice International, whose partners include First Data Corp. (NYSE:FDC - news), transacted over $6 billion in credit card transactions in 1998. Their endorsement of the E-COMMKIT was an important and integral part of the overall Planet City strategy.
The addition of ACCPAC's SIMPLY ACCOUNTING software, integrated with Planet City's proprietary software, coupled with Cardservice's online merchant banking software, makes the E-COMMKIT a formidable tool. More importantly the E-COMMKIT will be the forerunner to assist millions of small businesses worldwide in doing online commerce over the Internet. ''Endorsements by companies such as Cardservice and Computer Associates, validates the future of the E-COMMKIT'' says Rudy Rupak, VP of Planet City.
