Good Call writing Paul! I did a little for my Conservative Full Shield portfolio, too. I sold short covered call options on GE, IBM and INTC to protect profits on the stock holdings and to bring in cash. These stocks are key long term holdings that I use as examples to illustrate the use of covered call writing and other option strategies where timing can be very important to maximize return when competing with the high flier performance such as the internet funds. I am hoping that these stocks continue higher long term, but short term there could be some consolidation. No matter, sideways would also be great from here.
Your oil sector may be only starting the rally and as most often, a retest of recent lows usually happen before a meaningful move to higher highs.
