Well, I am not so sure about your prescription. Henry Hyde is the very epitome of gentlemanliness, and was being characterized as a partisan hothead as it was. What if he had in fact shouted?
I agree that the message should be clearer, more consistent, and firmer, and that we shouldn't let people like Frank get away with so much. But the way is not by imitating them, but by learning to dramatize things better in an acceptable style. Frankly, we need younger people, who have a better sense of how contemporary mass media work. It is no accident that Asa Hutchinson was especially noted for his strong performance during the trial.
