By far the fastest way to get out is to hit an ISLD bid, if there is one. In your case yesterday, i'm guessing that you were in IMCL and the whole world expected a gap and all tried to bail at the same time at the open. In this type of situation the exits are JAMMED, remember you can't force anyone to buy your stock in a situation like this, the SOES queue would be full all the mm's would be on refresh, there would be no or very low ISLD bids and the only ARCA you would see would be on the offer.
It's possible that the trader could have done better, but highly unlikely that you have a case against him/her.
This is a tough game and we are all ultimately responsible for our own decisions. Your decision was to hold 2000 shares overnight on a gamble for a gap. It didn't pay off, put it down to experience and move on.

Good luck
Bill
