It was painful to me to watch both Bush and Dole let themselves get caught in the trap of debating Clinton in a daytime-talkshow format. He is Mr. Shmooz, and in that format can outdo Phil Donahue. Both Bush and Dole are too reserved to make it work, and although both were head- and- shoulders above Clinton as men and as leaders, they came off as comparative stiffs. The man is a high tech demagogue...
