Mark; I will be getting a few references for you later in the week. The problem with Platinum is it is the most intractable of the noble metals. Vey high melting point, very inert. Reacts with a mixture of nitric and hydrochloric acids(aqua regia, royal water, a concentrated acid) I am not sure if there are any effectice complexing agents like cyanide that work well, Hopefully I will find out. Luckily I live on U of Toronto property and they have chem and mining libraries. Larger State U's will have these books too. Local libraries may not, but they may have an interlibrary loan program and can get them in a week or two.
