finally a bit of Junkanooness

i was dining at a local Bahamian restaurant when i heard the most incredible sounds come crashing in. it was Junkanoo, a riotous explosion of color, sound, movement and rhythm. A little like Mardi Gras, a little like Carnival and a little like a Mako Jumby parade. the whole place came alive and participated in Junkanoo as they paraded or 'rushed' serpentine-like through out the entire establishment. people followed and danced their shoes off [i would say asses but i might get jailed]. me included, shoeless to begin with. it called to everyone, you couldn't help but join in :-)

is was an experience i'll not soon forget.
