Amots, Based on the short term future news we already expect here, IMO it makes Vivus at least a $10/share stock. This doesn't include a domestic partner announcement and of course it assumes no market manipulation. IMO the big fight now will be between Merrill on the long side and Bear Sterns on the short side. On Monday Merrill was a large buyer and Bear Sterns was shorting as always. Bear Sterns has become cocky and complacent. They figured they made a ton of cash shorting Vivus from 6 1/2 to below 3 and may feel that they can do it again. If a few big boys decide to side with Merrill then bear Sterns can bend over and take it where they deserve it.
