This used to be a very good strategy, especially when BW wasn't available on AOL or the web. I used to get BW via fedex before market open on Friday. I made a lot of money via that method. However, it has never been same since the information became publicly available.
The general rule I found is that if the stock closes high than its open on Friday, then there would be a pop Monday morning. Occasionally, there still can be some good plays. Just check out SEVL last week. Most of the time, however, the open on Friday is just too high.
