The kind of souvenir stand that they have in gas stations, kinda next door, the kind that sell Spoons from All 50 States and porcelain busts of Elvis and those huge salad fork thingies about five feet long that you hang on your wall and velvet toreador paintings and banana splits and maple syrup and really hot ginger ale and bumper stickers with risque sayings and fuzzy dice and fancy crocheted thingies to cover your spare toilet paper rolls and firecrackers and pseudo-African masks and fake American Indian crafts and . . . and now, laser pointers. The fad of the 90's. Anyone else have one of these babies? They make the world's best cat-teaser. A good dog-teaser, too. I would love to read an anthropological study of one of those places, or maybe a bunch of them. Maybe I should do one myself.
