Nuke44... That was truly an incredible post... Thanks for letting me know that I'm not alone out here.

Btw, I spent 6 months on one of the military humanitarian missions. We tooled around the Darien Province of Panama slingloading our gear from site to site rebuilding schools, most within 75 klicks of the Colombian border and FARC guerilla bases.

Now we called it nation building... but the people in the area called it a miracle since their own gov't was either unwilling or incapable of doing anything for them.

There I saw the corruption and poverty for myself, as well as the indomitable human spirit trudging forward one day at a time.

And these activities are occuring throughout the world as we speak 365 days a year, in almost every geographical region.
