Yes Cheryl, I am the same "guy" that gave the speech to a group of senior citizens in my hometown. I gave the speech because they were petrified about what would happen to them next January when the power would be off in the middle of the winter and they couldn't drive their car, get food, etc. The final straw was the rumour that perhaps pacemakers would not work. You don't car about toasters and Vcrs, but what about pacemakers. I read your reference to Ontario Clean Water Agency, but didn't read any "facts" about the problem - just that they would be taking precautions "just in case". The only reason they are going to generators is to protect themselves in case the power goes off. They must feel better now that Ontario Hydro has done their test. As a computer professional in the business for 30 years, I recognize that there are some "bugs" that need to be fixed, but believe that this hype has gotten all out of proportion. I don't accept the argument that people are spending millions of dollars "just in case", as proof that there is going to be a major problem.
