Many analysts also say the liquidation's won't address the
crux of the problem: that banks can't lend at a profit.

With negative interest spreads of up to 15 percent,
Indonesia's banks are losing about 500 billion rupiah ($56
million) every day, according to Ginandjar Kartasasmita,
coordinating minister for economy and finance. Any new lending
would cause that figure to rise.
