then compare it with the stock price of the companies during his periods of residency.

There you will see that Yocam left Apple no later than the 90-92 timeframe (after AAPL had move form 15 to over 50), it was only during 93 that Apple's real troubles began (manifested in a halving of share price). Del was not part of that screw-up. Under him, Tektronix did a decent job of going from near (or under) 10 to mid to high 30s. Tektronix hadn't really started hurting again until this last year, long after Del's departure.

Inprise is clearly Del's hardest challenge, but he does have a good track record.
