mb, you mentioned w & r. They're BIG in small towns, they seem to have more loyal shareholders, the accounts are modest, and the shareholders don't make a move without talking to their 'avon person' <G>. the funds seem to be more conservative, and most of the money is in retirement accounts. the stock has tanked but the business is highly profitable. Also been around forever. They have an annuity business which is growing. I KNOW what happens to egrp and schawb when the sxxx hits the fan, but what happens to wdr?
