Then you made a very uninformed investment. The most important property that GNET owns is Metacrawler--it drives the largest portion of its advertising revenue. GNET acquired SI from the Dryers, who now work for GNET, for about $30 million in stock (at the value of the stock at that time). (Correct me if that figure is not exactly right.) I think the next most valuable property for GNET is Hypermart, which offers GNET tremendous e-commerce potential. Then comes SI and the specialized sites: Stocksite, Playsite, 100Hot. One advantage that SI does offer GNET, though, is great exposure in the investor/trader community, which I'm sure drives interest in the stock. (If not informed judgment.)

Just my analysis, based on watching the company closely for 18 months or so. (And being long since $7, pre-split.)
