Why not? A reasonable short interest is never bad for the stock, because it provides support for the stock price in dips. When a stock has gone up by that % amount in a rather short timeframe it is clear that some short interest is attracted.

Short interest may be an indicator of bad fundamentals but we know from other internet-related stocks in 1998 that a high short interest can be based, although "right" on present fundamentals, on an underestimated public perception of the company.

The yahoo efax board is even more bullish on efax. A number of 500k subscribers is rumoured there whereas the critic is that it's up to the company to release subscriber numbers.
