Sidney, what do you mean by "social revolutionary?" Please elaborate.

Neither of us can prove our point about Jesus studying Buddhism, because there is no utterly compelling evidence either way. Certainly, I find it interesting, though, that in Thomas' gospel, which did not make it into the Bible, he sounds like he is making the case for a very Buddhist kind of spirituality:

If you bring forth what is within
you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is
within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you."

I guess I am a little fascinated by why it is so disturbing to so many Christians that Jesus could have gone to India and studied Buddhism.
