George:

If you read my post carefully you will see that I talk about 2 different shifts (you call them crews) to operate 1 drill. Nuinsco is operating the one drill on two shifts to get to the target as fast as possible. Once there, they use the #2 drill rig to start the next hole 4-8 hours before the #1 drill rig is ready to go.

>Normally you pay for a drill by the hour for standby if its not working<

You are correct, NORMALLY you would pay for stand by time. However, these are not normal times in the exploration business and a big outfit like Bradley Brothers has dozens of rigs parked around Ontario and Quebec. Under the current circumstances Nuinsco probably had no problem getting Bradley to park another rig on site (Nuinsco probably picked up the mob/demob cost) because Bradley has a contract to drill a minimum of 15,000' of core and two operating rigs. If Bradley Brothers wasn't willing to make such a deal to get in on the ground floor of an exploration play, I know a half dozen drill contractors that would make the deal.
