I spoke to someone at Oracle and it appears that plans are in place to roll out Oracle front-office apps inside the company. But no deployment to date. Much grumbling, as even Oracle people don't think much of these apps. OTOH, once people get used to a certain way of doing things they're going to complain any way. Hard to tell how much of the grumbling is due to this, or to true concerns about the functionality of the Oracle apps.

Re web-enabled and client/server: it's whatever you want it to be. I'm not aware of any commonly accepted definition of either term. Siebel has for the longest time touted its "Internet Component Architecture". DCOM by any other name.
