Amazon better be careful if they ever want to open a depot in Canada. :) That country requires that you "have a reasonable expectation that the business will make a profit" right in their tax code in order to have a legal leg to stand on in the policing of various tax evasion methods. While Bezos has certainly paid all the taxes correctly (i'm referring to his personal taxes on those millions in AMZN stock he sold- the company itself has never earned a dime so it has never had to pay them) the question still remains if it was intended to make a profit, although the question itself has become merely academic at this point..

Of course, for all we know bezos may have actually started the business to make cash through business operations. I still wonder if it hasn't all spiraled out of control without bezos approval, or whether the current stock price was the ultimate plan.. Maybe there will be a TV movie of the week sometime in the future to give all the details??

(and will it get good ratings?) :)
