American Express, Gap, Others Liked by PaineWebber's Kerschner
New York, March 13 (Bloomberg) -- American Express Co., Carnival Corp., Gap Inc., Microsoft Corp., and Pfizer Inc. are among the stocks liked by PaineWebber Inc.'s Edward Kerschner, Barron's reported.
Kerschner, PaineWebber's chief investment strategist, believes trends will guide the baby boomer's consumer buying behavior, making certain stocks better picks, the newspaper reported in its March 15 edition.
Kerschner recommends drug companies Abbott Laboratories, Medtronic Inc., Pfizer, Schering-Plough Corp., and Warner-Lambert Co., because baby boomers are taking more drugs to stay healthy, grow hair and relieve stress. Other related picks are Avon Products Inc., because of strong demand for its skin-care products, and Ecolab Inc., because it sells cleaning products and trains on food safety matters. |
