I do not remember the TnT ever being reviewed at 125mhz, except for one that Anand specifically overclocked long after they all came out. They were all being clocked at 90, but the reviewers kept saying that the next rev would boost up the clock speed and that never happened. This time it is different, there are boards out that are running at speed. This does not mean that they can produce them in any great number and it does not mean that they can ship the higher clock boards anytime soon. Just as they had to spin a couple revisions of the Voodoo3 to improve yields and performance, I am sure that they will have to do the same thing for the TnT2.
TDFX still has a great brand name and a very good retail presence and this should ensure the success of the Voodoo3. However if Diamond can ship this card in Q2 at these speeds what ever they are, this will be the card that the gaming websites and magazines will be clamoring about and it will not be because of "bias".
As many people have mentioned previously 3DFX does not need to have the hottest product in order make a ton of money, they just need to win some OEM deals. Most retail consumers do not read web sites and it will be a couple of months before the reviews of the various cards make it into magazines and start filter into the public awareness.
Personally I will be looking at what card all the gaming companies are using to show their upcoming product at E3. If the majority of the cards are not 3DFX based and the OEM business has not taken off by that point then I will exit the stock for good.
